Halisa

Every day, Sarah cares for other people’s babies at the Children’s Health Centre in Haifa’s impoverished, multi-ethnic neighbourhood of Halisa, but she also yearns for a child of her own. After two years of failed attempts, her desperate desire for motherhood collides with the struggles of a young mother. Sarah’s longing culminates in a risky decision with potentially devastating consequences. The exceptional performances of these two gifted actors, Noa Koler and Dana Berkovitz, are manifested in creating a reality so close to home for anyone longing for a child to love.
