Four disabled Israeli veteran soldiers are part of a group invited to Aspen, CO. They participate in the program Golshim L'Chaim (Ski To Live) which was started in 2008 by Rabbi Mendel Mintz of the Chabad Jewish Community Center in Aspen. The program is entirely supported by donations from the local community and teaches Israeli soldiers to ski. The opportunity to remove themselves from their everyday existence gives them the freedom to forget the limitations of their disabilities. On the mountain, they obtain the ability to overcome adversity and challenge themselves physically, a transformative experience for everyone involved.
